Beacon Hill Scout Campsite

Beacon Hill Scout Campsite is the district campsite for Horsham Scouts and is located within the High Weald AONB. Being equidistant from London and the South Coast offers great days out, with loads of off-site activities within a short drive. The site comprises 36 acres of unspoilt grass and ancient woodland and is open to Scouts, Guides & Youth organisations.

With 16 individual sites and a Pavilion Hut, Beacon Hill can accommodate over 450 people for expeditions, sleepovers or camps of any duration. The site houses West Sussex Scouts first artificial cave system with 66m of indoor passage, as well as having a number of self-led activities like an assault course and pioneering. The site also sits adjacent to a footpath leading to St Leonards Forest which allows for many hikes and even D of E and Chief Scout expeditions.

What We Offer

Camping: Beacon Hill has over 15 individual camping areas, all with firebases, either grassed or immersed in the woodland, allowing for any type of camping.

Gummy’s Hut: The Pavilion Hut accommodates 30 roll mats and has a leaders room and fully equipped kitchen perfect for sleepovers, training courses or day use.

Activities: Our incredible indoor cave system and self-led activities mean you’ll never be bored at Beacon Hill.

Facilities: With our brand new toilet and shower block, large field and amphitheatre style Campfire Circle, we’re more than welcoming.

Directions to site: Turn off the A264 towards Colgate, at Faygate roundabout between Horsham and Crawley. The campsite is one mile on the right.
